HRCC Christmas Gift and Food Fair was in full festive swing at the weekend

Over 3,500 shoppers flocked to Chelmsford City Racecourse at the weekend for the HRCC Christmas Gift and Food Fair – raising money for Helen Rollason Cancer Charity. The Fair saw over 90 retailers come together to sell a range of high-end items including gifts, homeware, jewellery, art, books, toys and much more. Amongst the exhibitors were lots of well-known brands, including Neal’s Yard Remedies, Phoenix Trading and Le Creuset, as well as exclusive, independent traders. It was smiles all round as visitors watched live entertainment from a variety of performers including the Braintree Male Voice Choir, The D’Ukes, The Sound Collective, Dunmow Wind Band and Chelmsford Guitar Orchestra.

Outside the grandstand was a food promenade where visitor could enjoy hot drinks or sample gastronomic treats including gourmet cheese toasties, turkey rolls and hog roasts. Meanwhile, younger members of the family were delighted with a visit from Father Christmas himself. There was even a raffle to win a deluxe Tiptree hamper.

Kate Alden, Helen Rollason Cancer Charity Fundraising Manager says: “We’ve been absolutely blown away by the amount of visitors that we’ve had at this year’s Christmas Gift & Food Fair. We’ve received some fantastic feedback about the quality and variety of products on sale and everyone’s been really impressed with the venue at Chelmsford City Racecourse. The weekend has raised over £22,000 for Helen Rollason Cancer Charity and it’s been wonderful to see so many people coming out to show their support.”
