Walkers give it some welly for cancer charity

A group of eighty adults and children enjoyed a guided Welly Walk around Danbury Park to raise money for Helen Rollason Cancer Charity.
This was the charity’s third Welly Walk and it is expected to have raised over £2,000.
Helen Rollason Cancer Charity supports people living with cancer through award-winning support centres and pioneering cancer research. Kaci Kilpin, aged 9, from Great Baddow asked her family and school friends to sponsor her after her mum, Nicola Brewer, was diagnosed with breast cancer. She has raised over £165.
Nicola has been visiting the charity’s Essex Cancer Support Centre in Springfield, Chelmsford. Cancer patients can go there for counselling and complementary therapies which the charity provides for free. She said: ”The staff at the centre are fantastic. I’ve been having reflexology which is so relaxing – it really helps you to cope when you are feeling stressed.”
The charity’s Head of Fundraising, Angela Lodge said: ”Danbury Park was a great venue for the Welly Walk. Thank you to Kaci, Nicola and everyone else who came along and supported us.”
