How about joining a Fundraising Group?

So, you are bursting full of the fundraising spirit but are not sure where to start and you would like some help with your ideas? Then how about joining one of our Fundraising Groups, it’s a chance to make new friends, and do something worthwhile in the community you live in.

They are full of fantastic people who dream up a variety of ingenious ideas to raise money for our charity.

The HRCC Hatfield Peverel Fundraising Group are an integral part of the local community, most recently running a stall for HRCC at the Party in the Park annual village fun day. They organise a monthly Tea for Helen coffee morning at the HRCC Head Office in The Street, every third Saturday in the month between 10am and noon. This is always well attended and offers visitors a hot drink and homemade cake surrounded by great conversation. The Group offers a warm welcome to any new volunteers and cake makers!

The HRCC Springfield Fundraising Group organise a host of activities from Chocolate Parties, Quiz Nights, Barn Dances, Christmas, Spring and Summer Fairs. The last Christmas Bazaar in St.Augustine’s Church Hall in Chelmsford saw much of the local community come to support the event. Organiser Steve Morley said: “The day was so busy from start to finish, but the group’s hardwork paid off as we raised a fantastic £2,740.”

The week before saw the HRCC Takeley Fundraising Group active in their local community as part of the Takeley Village Fair in the village Silver Jubilee Hall. They raised £678 with a variety of stalls and by cooking up all day breakfasts for visitors. Recently the group organised a two-day plant sale at Takeley disused railway station. Supporters lovingly grew plants and potted them ready for sale, and their efforts were rewarded as a blooming marvellous amount of £1,655 was raised. As well as a visual floral treat visitors were also offered cream teas in the railway cafe.
