Research Lab

The Helen Rollason Charity Research Laboratory opened in April 2003 by Nikki Rollason and our Patron, the Lord Coe KBE.

Our work at the Charity's research laboratory was initiated by Professor Neville Davidson and continues to gather pace. There are now three scientists undertaking work into breast tumours.

Dr Louise Alldridge, Research Fellow, a post-doctoral research officer, Dr Chrissy Greenwood and a research Assistant (TBA) are conducting breast cancer research in collaboration with scientists at Cambridge University, Essex University, The Sanger Centre, The Karolinska Institute, Sweden and staff at the Chelmsford and Essex Breast Clinic.

The lab is located within and managed in collaboration with Anglia Ruskin University.

The objective of the research is to increase the understanding of breast cancer through world-class scientific research.

The three projects they are working on are:
  1. Investigating what causes cancer cells from the breast to stray to other parts of the body
  2. Why some cancers are resistant to chemotherapy
  3. Investigating ways of early monitoring of the success of treatments

For further information please contact Dr Louise Alldridge on 01245 493131 ext. 3098 or
