Our Centre at Rochelle House in Chelmsford, Essex, was the first of our Helen Rollason Cancer Care Centres to open. It is designed to provide an environment of peace and tranquillity for all visitors. Established in January 2002, it provides approximately 200 treatments to clients each month.

The centre incorporates a drop-in policy where visitors are welcome to come in and relax in the lounge without an appointment.

There are also four treatment rooms where the following complementary therapies are available by appointment:

• Counselling - an opportunity to explore feelings and emotions in a confidential relationship with someone outside your family and friends
• Art therapy - exploring feelings within a group setting through painting and drawing
• Writing therapy - expressing feelings through writing in a friendly atmosphere
• Aromatherapy - use of essential oils in massage, inhalation and scented baths to enhance relaxation and relieve tension
• Reflexology - a form of foot massage to reduce symptoms of pain and sickness
• Bach Flower Remedies - diluted flower essences taken orally to reduce anxiety and promote emotional balance

Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD), the use of specific massage, bandaging and breathing techniques to reduce swelling and promote mobility, is also offered at Rochelle House.

The Helen Rollason Cancer Care Centre Chelmsford is situated on the outskirts of the picturesque North Essex countryside and provides plenty of parking.

From A12: Exit on to A130 Colchester Road. Follow A130 on to White Hart Lane, then on to Chelmer Valley Road. At roundabout turn left on to Lawn Lane. The centre is on the right.

From M11: Exit on to A414 travelling past Ongar. Enter Chelmsford at the Widford double roundabout, turn left and left again following signs to Widford Industrial Estate and Town Centre. On joining The Parkway follow signs for Stansted A130/Sudbury A131 on to Chelmer Valley Road. At roundabout turn right on to Lawn Lane.
