HRCC – Chelmsford Chieftains Charity of the Season

Chelmsford ChieftainsHelen Rollason Cancer Charity (HRCC) are delighted to have been chosen by the Chelmsford Chieftains as their Charity of the Season. As two organisations who are very much supported by local businesses and the community we are sure this partnership is going to flourish.

Andy Driver, Press Officer for Chelmsford Chieftains, said “The Chieftains are delighted to be supporting the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity this season. Tony Camp, one of our fans, and a member of the Springfield Fundraising Group for Helen Rollason, came to us a season ago and asked if he could do weekly raffles to raise funds for the charity. We already had a chosen charity but allowed him to do raffles all the same as our previous charity was more about awareness than fundraising. It was only right that this season we wear the Helen Rollason logo proudly on our team jersey. We look forward to working together over the next few months raising funds and awareness of this very worthy cause”

chelmford-chieftains-actionKate Alden, Fundraising Manager at HRCC attended the Chieftains first League match of the season at home against Invicta Dynamos. Although a newbie to ice hockey Kate said “I thoroughly enjoyed the evening and meeting some of the Team and supporters. We are proud to have been chosen by the Chieftains and we already have some fundraising ideas including a Mascot Race on the ice”.

The money raised will be used to extend HRCC services.  HRCC is dedicated to championing quality of life for everyone living with or affected by Cancer through the provision of free access support centres, complementary therapies, information and advice and supporting clinical trials.
