Shoppers flocked to Chelmsford City Racecourse at the weekend (Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th November) for the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity Christmas Gift & Food Fair raising over £26,000 for the charity!
The Fair is one of the region’s biggest and best Christmas shopping events in Essex, showcasing over 100 small local businesses. There was an exciting variety of high-quality, unique gifts, decorations, crafts and festive foods to get guests in the Christmas spirit.
Alongside the shopping stands, there were a range of popular food and drink stalls, serving up alcoholic beverages including festive hot drinks and mulled wine and smiles all round with games including name the polar bear, tombola and raffle.
Karen Mitchell, Community Fundraiser for Helen Rollason Cancer Charity said: “We’ve been absolutely blown away by the amount of visitors that we’ve had at this year’s Christmas Gift & Food Fair. We’ve received some fantastic feedback about the quality and variety of products on sale and everyone’s been really impressed with the food and drink on offer.
We need to raise almost £900,000 a year to provide our services so this event has helped us achieve that considerably. It’s been wonderful to see so many people coming out to show their support. Thank you to all of our fantastic event and photography Volunteers, stallholders and everyone who attended the event.”
And keeping with the Christmas spirit, Helen Rollason Cancer Charity Christmas cards are on sale now! Available in our charity shops, Support Centres and over the phone with lots of festive designs to choose from there is something to suit all tastes, and at £3.95 for a pack of 10 they’re a bargain too!
