Over 4,000 shoppers flocked to Chelmsford City Racecourse at the weekend (Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th November) for the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity Christmas Gift & Food Fair raising thousands of pounds for the charity! Funds raised will enable the charity to treat in excess of an extra 900 cancer clients, helping us to enable quality of life while living with cancer.
The Fair is one of the region’s biggest and best Christmas shopping events with over 120 independent retailers, who combined stocked a variety of items including gifts, homeware, jewellery, art, books, toys and much more.
Alongside the shopping stands, there were a range of popular food trucks and stalls, including The Giggly Pig Company, Spice Queen and Perfect Potato selling gastronomic treats to keep the foodies happy. Plus there were smiles all round with games including name the reindeer, teddy tombola and Counter Culture showing live demonstrations of their games.
Suzanne Watson, Community Fundraiser for Helen Rollason Cancer Charity said: “We’ve been absolutely blown away by the amount of visitors that we’ve had at this year’s Christmas Gift & Food Fair. We’ve received some fantastic feedback about the quality and variety of products on sale and everyone’s been really impressed with the venue at Chelmsford City Racecourse.
The weekend has raised thousands of pounds for Helen Rollason Cancer Charity and it’s been wonderful to see so many people coming out to show their support. Thank you to all of our fantastic retailers, Volunteers including photographer Dave Brillus and everyone who attended the event.”
