
All our services are provided completely free of charge, but in order to do this, we need to raise over £850,000 every year, from scratch. This is where you come in. We welcome anyone wishing to do something unusual, challenging, or whacky to raise money for our charity – the possibilities are endless!

Fundraising event ideas
Pudding on a show – The Lemon Tree in Bishop’s Stortford, held a Pudding and Pies evening for guests.
Cheers to the Pub – The Pub in Braintree, Essex held a Halloween Party and asked guests to make a donation for their attendance.
Fashionable way to raise money – Mira Mira beauty salon in Sawbridgeworth and colleagues organised a fashion show.
Pampering for pounds – Just Pampered in Great Baddow asked for a donation for every treatment and mini treatment during their seventh anniversary celebrations.
Dan’s the man – Dan Summers ran a total of 137 sponsored miles on top of 700 miles training with sponsorship money coming to our charity.
Boxing clever – Chelmsford Amateur Boxing Club held a charity boxing dinner with a special auction during the evening.
Horsing around – Prim Raynor organised a Tea for Helen with a horse racing theme.
Stepping out for charity – Robert and Wendy Johnson scored a perfect ten with their ‘Strictly for Fun’ evening of ballroom, sequence and Latin dancing.
Tee Off for Helen – John Ames has held an annual golf day in support of the charity for a number of years.

Community Support

One of the many ways that organisations in the community can support us is by making us your Charity of the Year. By adopting us for a year, you are demonstrating to your local community that you support people living with cancer. It’s also a great way to bring employees, colleagues and/or friends together to have fun and raise money. There are many ways that you can support us.
- Organise fundraising events and activities including baking, sports, quiz, fashion show or car show to name a few.
- Making a donation of money, raffle prizes or items to be sold in our charity shops or eBay shop.
- Sponsoring our annual events.
- Putting a team together to take part in a challenge including cycling, climbing, sky dive or triathlon.

Fundraising Groups
Our fantastic fundraising groups help raise vital funds to allow us to enable quality of life while living with cancer. We rely on them to help organise fundraising events and activities within their local community. Our groups act as ambassadors, helping to spread the word about the work of HRCC and encouraging and supporting local people, clubs and organisations to fundraise for us too.
Would you like to join one of our Fundraising Groups? It’s a chance to make new friends and do something worthwhile in the community you live in. Or why not create a new one!
Our HRCC Hatfield Peverel Fundraising Group are an integral part of the local community and organise a monthly Tea for Helen coffee morning at the HRCC Support Centre every third Saturday of the month. The Group offers a warm welcome to any new members and cake makers!
Our HRCC Springfield Fundraising Group organise a host of activities from Chocolate Parties, Quiz Nights, Barn Dances, Christmas, Spring and Summer Fairs. Their Quiz Nights are always a sell out event and raise vital funds for our charity.
Our HRCC Takeley Fundraising Group are active in their local community with annual events such as their Charity Lunches, Quiz Nights, Soup and Pud Suppers, Social Evenings and Christmas Bazaars.
