Takeley Fundraising Group Topple Their Fundraising Target!

A huge THANK YOU and congratulations to our Takeley Fundraising Group who have raised over £50,000 for the charity since 2003 – what an achievement!

Recent events the group have held or taken part in, include running the kitchen, gift stall and cake raffle at the Takeley Christmas Bazaar, a Soup ‘n’ Pud event where guests enjoyed a lunch of a selection of soups and puddings, and Christmas Light Up where various groups from Takeley came together for the lighting up of a Christmas tree at the Silver Jubilee Hall. The group also ran a gift stall and card tombola, Christmas Party and a Quiz Night which both took place at the Silver Jubilee Hall. They also held a bucket collection at Tesco, Great Dunmow, where generous local residents donated to the charity.

Chair of the Takeley Fundraising Group Anne Farr said “I would like to thank everyone who has been involved in the Takeley Fundraising Group, since it was formed in 1996 by Cathy Prior, for their hard work and dedication towards the charity.
I took over from Cathy in 2016 and thankfully with the help from the group, our volunteers, and the staff at HRCC charity office, we have continued to go from strength to strength. The support we get from local residents and businesses in and around Takeley is magnificent. We are very lucky that local people ask when our next events are and all have their favourites that they like to come to. However, this does not stop us trying something new and our most recent event was a first for us, it was a Bridge Drive and it raised an amazing £898.50!”

Future events planned by the Takeley Fundraising Group include the following…
