Volunteers are an integral part of Helen Rollason Cancer Charity; without them we could not support those living with cancer. Our support centre volunteers help provide a welcoming and friendly environment for clients and relatives who use our centres. They provide vital support to the therapists and the centre co-ordinator to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the centres.
Roles include:
• Welcoming clients as they enter the centre.
• Chatting with clients and friends/relatives.
• Keeping the centre tidy.
• Supporting with bookings online and via the telephone.
The ideal volunteer will have:
• Good people skills.
• Willingness to work as part of a team.
• Good organisational skills.
• Willingness to support others.
• To be able to promote the charity and the services offered.
• Good telephone skills.
• General administrative and computer skills e.g. filing, form filling, booking, Microsoft Office.
• Compassion and empathy.
