Vintage Fair Fever comes to Cressing Temple Barns

Vintage and retro lovers are being invited to roll back the years and dress to impress for Helen Rollason Cancer Charity’s Vintage Fair on Sunday 8th July, as we celebrate all things vintage from a bygone era.

In its ninth year, this annual charity event is held at the beautiful Cressing Temple Barns near Braintree and will showcase a myriad of vintage stalls including pop up hair and beauty parlour, kitchenalia, fashion, jewellery, pre-loved furniture and lots more! Over 130 classic cars and motorbikes will be on display including vehicles from the Austin 7 Club, classic Fords, American cars as well as Harley Davidsons, Volkswagens, Messerschmitts and members of the Rochford Hundred Vintage Tractor & Engine Club with their stationary engines.

There will be live music from rock’n’roll band Kingsmen who will be playing vintage fifties instruments, and dancing from LJ’s Jive School where you can watch or join in with modern jive dancing.

Cressing Temple Barns are steeped in history dating back to the 1100’s when it was given to the Knights Templar and home to three Grade I listed barns as well as Tudor built Walled Gardens.

Pre-loved and vintage shopping is an affordable and sustainable way to acquire unique and new items whilst also supporting a worthy cause. In addition, shopping at Helen Rollason Cancer Charity’s Vintage Fair directly impacts the vital care and support offered to those living with cancer and their loved ones in the community. It’s a double win!

Helen Rollason Cancer Charity Fundraising Manager Kate Alden said: “Over 3,000 people attended last year’s event, which raised just under £14,000 for the charity, so if you love all things vintage, this really is the place to be!”

The Vintage Fair is open between 11am and 4.30pm; tickets are £5 for adults, £4 concessions and under 16s are free – click here to book today!

There will be lots of opportunities for shopping with a selection of stalls selling vintage fashion, crafts, jewellery, kitchenalia, furniture and collectables. Plenty of refreshments will be available, including Molly Moo’s Ices and a VW Camper van bar offering a range of alcoholic beverages. Other delicious food options such as pizzas, a hog roast, gourmet hot dogs and fudge will also be on offer.

Those wanting to embrace vintage style with a new hair-do can get their hair styled courtesy of the Hairaid Shelter. Dogs on leads are welcome at our event and adding to the car-nival of entertainment will be a display of classic vehicles and stationary engines.

We’re a local charity, serving our local community, and every penny raised at this event will go towards ensuring we continue to provide the best possible cancer support care now and in the future. I look forward to welcoming all of our supporters to the beautiful grounds of Cressing Temple Barns on the day.”
